Currently you were staring at something curious. And the more you watched it, the stranger it became.
The tinkering continued, tiny rattling sounds sounding from when the bottles with the rainbow-coloured treats were shaken. Even the slightest tilting of the jars made a wonderful sound.
A cornucopia of colours were mixing, the colour-drained sugar in all shapes and sizes lying in misshapen piles.
The American seemed to become conscious of you penetrating stare and he cautiously looked up; not knowing what to expect from your blank expression.
Making the briefest of eye-contacts with him, you shrugged once and gestured loosely at the ‘dessert’ he was making.
“I don’t know. I mean, don’t you have more trimmings than actual ice-cream in that bowl?”
Alfred scratched his cheek sheepishly, an exasperated smile quirking his lips. “I guess.” You frowned slightly, a crease appearing on your forehead. “How- but- why-.... never mind.”
A sigh escaped your lips and you sunk down, resting your chin on your forearms. Alfred grinned impishly, scooping up some of the cool sweetness on his spoon and hovering it in front of your face.
“..... What?” You teased, echoing his sentence from before. Rolling his blue, bespectacled eyes, he pressed the ice-cream to your lips gently but with a certain force, making you open your mouth and eat what he was offering.
You gazed up at him as you savoured the sugary taste and he tilted his head to the side, that goofy grin that defined him present on his face.
You just ‘meh’-ed at his question, pretending that it wasn’t a big deal. He poked your cheek with the tip of his finger, sensing or rather knowing you weren’t telling the truth. Blushing lightly at his knowledge of you, you batted his hand away.
“You can be such a kid at times Alfie.” You muttered under your breath, pursing your lips when he interlaced your fingers together.
“Yeah, but that’s why you like me, no?” He grinned down at you, squeaking when you pulled him down to your level.
He gaped at your statement, his arms winding around you. “I can tell that answer can be a bit more convincing!”
Twirling you in circles, Alfred laughed loudly as you clung onto him for dear life. It was clear after a short moment though, that there was no way your American would ever let you fall.
“Yes! That’s why I love you, you silly little child!”
Still lifting you in his arms, he brushed his lips against yours, his own cheeks red. “See! Told you that answer could be better!”
“Anyway, do you want some ice-cream?”
“..... Hell yes.”
