You looked at the leather cord solemnly, glancing up at him when he gasped.
Allistor brandished the leather bracelet at you. “Where did you get this?!” You blinked, lost for words. How did he know what that was? “C’mon don’t play dumb with me!” Allistor practically bared his teeth at you. You stuttered something nonsensical, falling silent.
“This is the bracelet Blue always wore!” You winced at your stage name, a grimace playing around your lips. “I wasn’t aware she’d sold it....” you heard and you looked up to see Allistor staring at it intently.
“Are you...?” Allistor grinned sheepishly and sat back down on the bed. “I’m a big fan of hers. Still am in fact. It’s such a shame she left.” You held back a hiss. That’s what they’d said you’d done? They said you’d left?! What a farce!
“That’s not what happened.” You growled, your fists balled into the fabric of your bedcovers. Allistor raised his eyebrow, not wanting to interrupt you in case you’d would tell him what had really happened.
“Those jerks just up and left! Taking m- Blue’s songs with them!” It unnerved you slightly having to talk about yourself in the third person, but you didn’t feel ready yet to reveal your other identity.
“Then-“ His eyes were wide as he contemplated what you’d just said. “You mean they just dumped her?” You folded your arms and nodded angrily. He huffed loudly, his brows knitting together. “I can’t believe them! I can’t believe I actually looked up to those kind of guys!”
He looked at you. “Can I ask you how you know that anyway?” Crap. You had not planned that into the equation. “Errr-“
“Do you know her?!” Allistor grasped your hands in his and looked at you expectantly. “Do you?”
“Y-yeah, she used to be a friend of mine.” You lied through your teeth, hoping he wouldn’t notice. “That’s brilliant! Do you think...” Oh no.
“I could maybe meet her sometime?” There it was. Your impending doom. You pulled your hands free, rubbing your neck awkwardly. “I-I’ll see what I can do.” You said, dreading your solution already. He cheered loudly, standing up and fistpumping. “Thanks! I’d do anything to be able to see her!”
After hugging you tightly, he started to go to the door. “Wait!” You grabbed hold of his wrist and he turned towards you. “D-don’t tell the others, okay? Blue doesn’t really like going out that much after what happened and she doesn’t like crowds, so...”
The redhead grinned at you, twisting the bracelet onto your wrist. “Sure thing, it’ll be a secret between the two of us.” Then he left.
You sighed in relief, sliding down the door. If he was that much of a fan, wouldn’t he have recognised you already though?
Maybe your blue wig, from which you’d taken your stage name, and makeup could really change what a person looked like. Oh well, at least you’d been able to tell him what those douche bags had done to you.
Maybe now, he’d stop being a ‘Four shades of awesome’ fan and would go back to just being a regular Blue fan. It made you smile knowing that you weren’t completely forgotten. “Hey, you got that collar yet?”
You jumped when you heard Dylan’s voice, scrambling to your feet. “Not yet!” Dylan stuck his head round the door. “Need some help?” You scratched your cheek. “I think I’ll be fine.”
After smiling, he disappeared back downstairs. Now where was that infernal thing?
Having searched everything, you finally found the collar, bell intact in one of your old boxes of which you had many. It was a black collar, with reflective cat eyes on it. “Right! I’ve got it!” You bounded downstairs.
The brothers watched as you tied the collar around the kitten’s neck which was lying purring in Peter’s arms on its back. It mewled, pawing at you and that prompted Peter to give you the kitten. It nuzzled its nose into your warm neck making you giggle.
A new duo had formed unconsciously as you and the cat snuggled together, the brothers watching the bonding with a smile.
You certainly weren’t going to feel lonely ever again!
Allistor grinned, his heart beating faster when he thought about what you’d said. Could he really meet up with the girl who’d stolen his heart? Moreover had what you said about the rest of the band really been true?
