You glanced at him out of the corner of your eye, your attention snapping back to the blackboard the moment he looked at you. His green eyes scanned your back, lingering on your shiny (h/c) hair and a part of your neck that was showing.
He pretended to yawn and look skyward stretching when you shot him a look. This continual stare-game went on during the lesson and you sighed in relief when you heard the bell ring.
After gathering your stuff you walked into the corridor, but you froze when you reached the double-doors that led outside. The sky was grey and the beginning of rain was creeping out of the clouds. Maybe if you ran for it you could make it to your house, it wasn't that far away after all.
Okay so you couldn't make it, you concluded, sheltering under a large tree. Sighing, you settled down. It didn't look like the rain was going to let up anytime soon. You stared at the sky, the non-stop peltering of the rain filling your mind.
You weren't getting very wet, most of you was covered, but you hated the feeling when your socks were wet. And unfortunately that was exactly the sensation you felt as you moved your feet.
Groaning you rubbed your eyes in frustration. The sound above you was suddenly muted and your gaze met Arthur's when you looked up. The blue umbrella was silencing the rain and you could hear the raindrops hitting it and sliding down the waterproof fabric.
"What?" He said abashedly. "I'm British, I can do sudden torrential downpour." He blushed, but offered his hand to you. "Thanks." You replied, taking his hand and springing to his feet. Snuggling up to his arm, you kissed his cheek.
"You're sweet." You told him, smiling when his cheeks burned red. "Yeah well, after the Quality Street and the milk-tray massacre.....besides it's probably just the tea." He mumbled, liking the feeling of warmth he was getting from you.
"True!" You giggled, hugging his arm tighter. "You know I really love you don't you Arthur?"
To that, he stared at his feet as if his life depended on it. "Yes of course I do. We wouldn't be together otherwise would we?" Nodding, you smiled at your boyfriend.
"Let's go home and get dry eh?"
And with that the two of you returned to your home.
